Between All Things

I just cannot…
Words escape me, and my heart splits, and one half slides to the floor.
Remember when I made you smile? No… that won’t work.
I smeared away that smile like ruined lipstick.
Her laughter echoes in the remnants of my heart.
The equilibrium has been achieved. The heightening of emotions to the point where they all drown each other out.
Cancel each other out.
Now, all that is left is this numbing silence.
This blankness. Nothing.
The passion, a thing I was known for. Gone.
They sure picked the right poison.
I am fading.
What happened to all the color?
The vibrancy?
What is the point?
The pain…
That sweet and delicate feeling.
That one thing I know that tells me that I am still alive… has become numb.
Nothing remains.
Am I alive?
Am I just an empty shell?
Drained of life and vitality and magic?
We are at that point of liminality again.
The wind rustling through The Willow Tree.
The sun’s brightness blinds and causes the eyes to bleed with its revealing light.
The moon’s softness soothes the wounds from the harshness of the day.
Between light and dark.
Between life and death.
Between raindrops.
Where everything begins and unravels.
This is where I can be found.
