It hurts my head
when I think on what you say.
It hurts my head
to process this much insipidness…
Why dim the light of other’s minds
with your fog of words?

And you go on…
Saying how everything should be
with such finality…
What purpose is there to everything?
If everything were as you saw it…
Where is the room for discovery?
You, who speak with such authority…

You speak of progress and modernity
Yet, the words you spew are rife with your isms.
When you speak of past times,
what you put on display
is your lack of understanding and abundance of ignorance…

Do you remember those moments?
Before you lost yourself to the everydays of life?

Graveyard Days…

I remember those cold nights of years past
finding solace, at times with friends, amongst the dead
desperately seeking a conduit and wailing for flesh long since lost
Setting things straight and righting wrongs done
reuniting the lost
leaving cops in confusion
Sex and sacrilege
hot wax on satin gloves

These fragmented remains

Pick it all up and put it in a box
and place it somewhere far away
These fragmented remains

Working through the pain is all that I have so much left to do away with all that is wrong way of doing things it matters to one such as I don’t have all the answers can raise more questions can be difficult to deal with it doesn’t matter of the heart of the problem accepting the truth about who I am none of these things and yet I am

Still, the Fragments Remain

There’s the sensation of whispered breaths
and someone’s flesh against me.
With my eyes closed,
I should be more concerned about who.
But I just let myself go
and get lost in the moment.
Falling, sinking, feeling
Her voice in my ear,
sending ripples, reverberating through my being.
There’s this profound effect
which used to take place
when she introduced her lips to mine,
too much time has passed to be sure of it.
Echoes of sweet whispers, haunting my brain.
Still, the fragments remain

briefest of reunions

Falling back into your embrace
Did you know, as you caught me in your tender arms
that I am still seeking you?
Pining…
Looking back and up at you
our eyes meet briefly before you dissipate
Your form breaking up
into a multitude of cherry blossoms
only to be carried away by the wind…
I fall again,
my knees crashing hard upon the ground
Alone, I assess the reality of the situation as I wake

unworthy

I didn’t do anything special
don’t look at me with awe
nor shower me with adulation
Please, don’t place your faith in me
don’t place your trust in me
nor look to me for guidance
…I will only let you down

unsaid

This cannot be helped
what I have to say
is building up inside
it is ready to burst
This will eat at me
if I do not let it out
it could consume me
it is dangerous
This is maddening
What can I do about this?
Keep it bottled up?
Shout it out and make it known?

standing, waiting

She stands there
Smiling at me
My heart is begging me
To run and see her and hold her close
I stand here
Waiting for her
To give me the sign to give chase
I love her
She makes me feel
I can break free of these shackles
Which keep me
Bound and broken
Rising above it all and join her
