There Was a Time

There was a time
when I felt connected to this world.
There was a time
when my heart sang
because of my dreams
and the hopes I had.
Now, I feel I am broken and lost…
adrift among a sea of emotions,
bereft of the things which made me whole.
I question whether I should fade away
like the forgotten and lost gods of long ago.
